So soon after the excitement of Smeatharpe, it was finally time to return to our “homeland” in the south – Westonzoyland, near Bridgwater, Somerset. Saturday threatened to be a wash out, with the heavens opening just minutes before the riders’ meeting was due to be called and the racing to get under way… And it stopped, the track was almost dried out, and it came back again… But eventually we got our chance; flags up, visors down, lights green, throttle open! Being restricted to an 1/8th of a mile for the track probably worked in our favour here, allowing riders to get plenty of runs in despite such a late start. Sunday was kinder weather-wise, allowing people more time for making adjustments between runs to try and tweak their setups to get the best from their machines. Still not quite the same bustling paddock that we are used to, brimming with the eager and supportive spectators that we love so much, but hopefully we will be allowed by the powers that be to welcome you back to the track some time soon. Over all a brilliant weekend and a welcomed sense of near-normality sharing the sport we love with other speed enthusiasts.

The results from this weekend have been published and can be found on our results page here.

This weekend took part in the true spirit of what Sprinting is all about. Despite the rain on Saturday, the enthusiasm to get out on the track was palpable and once given the go ahead, the action was constant and rapid. A fantastic event with hopefully many more to come. A big thank you to all involved for making this happen.
