Please take time to read this touching tribute from Julie Kimber-Smith and help us share her message to reach the right people:

It is with deep regret I have to let people know that my mum Christine Kimber-Smith passed away on the 16th February. My mum & dad, Terry Kimber-Smith, were the founder members of the Northern section of the NSA. My mum will be remembered by many for not only doing time keeping, chocks, rollers and keeping everyone supplied with tea coffee and food. Her greatest skill was keeping my dad in check and being a brilliant mum to me & my 2 sisters. My dad used to run at Esholt, Elvington, York, North Weld & many more tracks. He was invited & ran at Brighton Speed Trials as well as Dracton in Holland, invited by the late great Hank Vink. My dad ran the most strange fasted 3 wheeler known as the flying barn yard gate. He went on to race an AC Cobra in the Rover Challenge. Mum’s funeral will be held on Monday 4th March at Schoolmoor Cemetery in Bradford at 1.20. There will be a celebration of her life afterwards & all are welcome. Many people will have forgotten what my parents did for the NSA in its early years, but growing up it was our families life. Please pass this message on as I do not have any other means of contacting old friends for my dad. Thank you. RIP mum Xx
